UN Adopts Pact for the Future: A Milestone for Global Cooperation

The United Nations General Assembly has officially adopted the “Pact for the Future” during the opening of the two-day Summit of the Future, convened by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. This landmark moment marks the endorsement of a broad framework aimed at strengthening international cooperation and shaping a more inclusive and responsive multilateral system.
Alongside the Pact for the Future, Member States also adopted the Global Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations, forming a trio of outcome documents intended to guide global governance in the years ahead.
The Pact for the Future outlines 56 actions covering a wide range of priorities, including poverty eradication, climate change mitigation, gender equality, peacebuilding, and the protection of civilians. These commitments reflect shared efforts to address pressing global challenges and build a more sustainable and equitable future.
This adoption signals renewed momentum for multilateralism, reaffirming the importance of collective action and long-term vision in navigating complex global dynamics.
